I went to the dealer about a year ago and tried to get a white battery (the larger one used on the OM617 applications) and was given a price of near $300. So I put that purchase on hold and looked into a Deka battery which was nearly the same price.

Yesterday, while I was at the dealer, I decided to check the price again. $179!

So if you need one, it looks like battery prices have come back down to earth.

Very dealer dependent. Got a similar price for mine but quotes varied wildly between dealerships, often less than a few miles apart : /

To be fair, the relationship I have with the parts guys means that they give me the wholesale prices on pretty much everything.


It helps when you give them part numbers and don't ask them to look up the old stuff.

I got mine from Sam's Club for my W124 diesel, from memory it's a Duracell battery and might have been $89? Not sure, been maybe 2 years ago.
