Fan clutch squealing, noise 300CD US, OM617

I can hear the fan clutch squealing. It seems to be working fine. But, it has gotten noisy. It actually sounds like a loose belt. But, it is the fan clutch. Does this always mean that the fan clutch needs to be replaced?

I'd say yes, check it for looseness you don't want it launching into the oil cooler hoses and/or the radiator. I've never had a fan clutch squeal.

When I manually turn the fan, you can hear the squeal. Is there a way to post a video here?

If you can turn it and produce the squeal it has to be the clutch.
