'99 E300D differential fluid
Help me out here guys. I'm about to change the differential fluid in my E300D. Last time I did it I used Valvoline DuraBlend Synthetic 80w90 GL5. That was 18 years ago and everything has gone well. I can't find that oil anymore. The manual calls for hypoid gear oil SAE 90 or 85w90. So what is your go to oil these days?

Thank you for the quick reply. Your answer brings up a couple of questions.
1. When I bring up that product on some websites, it indicates that it is not for my car? It probably said the same thing about the 80w90 when I used years ago. 2. I have almost a full quart of the 80w90 on hand. I only need maybe a pint more to do the job. Is there any issue mixing in another viscosity product or should I just buy two quarts and not mix things?

Check out https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/ That site will show all the fluid approvals for MB.
https://operatingfluids.mercedes-benz.com/sheet/235.9 I'm guessing is the sheet you need. It would say the sheet number in the service manual. Sometimes the fluids listed by Mercedes on the Bevo site are hard to come by in the US. I've been using Liqui Moly.

Anyone use Valvoline SynPower 75W-90 gear oil? It comes in a flexible kind of pouch that might make any contortions you might have to do to get the container situated easier. Looks like you can squeeze and/or roll up the pouch to force the fluid out into the fill hole. Otherwise with the regular plastic bottles you might have to use a hand pump to force the fluid in. Been so long since I did the differential fluid in this car that I can't remember how hard it is to get the fluid where you want it.

I don't know about w210, but on w124, using the bottles to get fluid into the diff was a real pain in the butt. I think a flexible container would help.
