Hi forum members,
I have an 89 190D. Currently changing out the glow plugs. Reamed the holes and attempted to suck out any excess grease left behind, and I noticed that in cylinder 4, when I applied my shop vac to the glow plug hole that there was suction coming from the 4th intake port. Put my hand over the intake port and could feel suction from the shop vac which was on the glow plug hole. The noise of air passing was the indication.
Is this something to be concerned about?
Only reason I ask is because no other cylinder produced this suction when the shop vac was applied to the glow plug hole.
I’d consider myself an amateur wrencher. Anything below the camshaft/inside an engine block is out of my knowledge though.
Thanks all!
