Smile hi people

Hi nice to meet you all, name's Ben, I live in Italy.

Down to the interesting bit-need your expertise regarding my latest Mercedes, a 1984 190d 2.0.

I am doing quite a lot of work on the car with my mechanic, as it has not been incredibly well maintained over the last few years, or so it would seem.

Steering wheel smooth on top, clutch and throttle pedals worn half smooth, white bodywork good just a few rusty bits(think it was left outside for some time) and some little dings in the paintwork.

I am quite sure it was left sitting for a long while, but can you give me any advice regarding km/miles? Without taking any previously provided info into account for now.

Many thanks!

Hey Ben, welcome aboard. If car has been sitting still for years change all fluids/filters to start.

Where in Italy? I was just there back in February for a few weeks and managed to pick up a 6 speed manual as a nice souvenir.

I worked mainly in Chiuro and Verona/Bovolone. Both up in the North. I'll probably be back in the next year or so and I'd love to help out if I could. I only saw one w123 the entire time I was there. It was in a classic shop in Verona.

Hi

not too far from La Spezia....which I think is now pretty famous.

Let me know when you're over again and I'll shown you my seventh Merc.

Cheers

The table of maintenance schedule for periodic care is going to be accessible online. You just need to do a few quick Searches on the Internet using your vehicle Make, year, model, and engine as points of reference in the Seaches.

Another follow up resource is You Tube website for the How tos on any particular tasking.
