has anyone seen a complete vacuum diagram for an 85TD?

The vac diagrams I've seen for the 85TD all only have the engine compartment and exclude the cabin including the lock system.

My engine compartment is fine but the line going into the cabin is disconnected.

Also, is there an easy way to get the FSM working now that Adobe Flash is no longer supported? I recently found my 126 disks and am going to install them for the 85SD.

IIRC I've got the info you need but it will be next week before I get home.

The vacuum line going through the firewall controls door locks and the trunk lock once it gets outside the engine compartment. Again, going on memory I seem to think it was yellow line that supplied the door locks. Under the hood it is used to shut the engine down if you did not already know that .

If you don't mind locking and unlocking with a key then just plug the line going thru the firewall.

The line is yellow and plugged. I'm getting tired of having to check each door to make sure all are locked.

I haven't messed with locks for a long time and the interior is out. Front and rear windshield seals have been replaced and keep the water out, Now is a good time to reconnect the locks and there is a plugged line near the climate control that will need attention.

I'd prefer not wandering around aimlessly when the diagram is available.

I also found a compressed version of the 123 FSM but haven't tried getting it working. I know that Adobe Flash is obsolete and no longer runs natively on Win 11 so neither the 126 or 123 FSMs will run without effort. I can load both to dropbox if someone needs them. Send me an email.

Much appreciated on the vac diagram when you get to it.

I'd like to know why that yellow line is plugged.

Does your TD have a manual transmission?

No, automatic. I think 722.303 but I haven't looked in awhile.

I found some disconnected rubber junctions on the driver floor. There is one 2-port check valve on the firewall. I connected the check valve and junctions and the locks work but there a leak and they don't work after an hour or so.

One thread on ifixit shows 2 2-port check valves. I only have one. I have a smoke machine that I bought for another project. I removed the check valve and connected to both lines to smoke but didn't find any.

I wonder why I haven't gotten email notifications when there's a response. That feature is turned on.

I'll start applying/testing vacuum at the lock pods and work backwards. Some of the rubber Ys are old and could be leaking. Also, the connection at the main vacuum line is not great.

The lines themselves appear to be intact.

Here's a link to the ifixit thread.

Click on the “Read me” link at the linked webpage for more information and instructions. Once installed on the computer hard drive, it runs in a web browser- works great with the Firefox browser. I have mine installed on a peripheral hard drive and open the file with Firefox.

The yellow line basically comes through the firewall, hits the drivers footwell, goes across to the passenger side then down the right side of the car to the fuel door then trunk. I'm guessing on the sedan it must cross over to the back left door somewhere.

When finding door lock issues, always start with the fuel door. Bypass the actuator completely, if that doesn't fix it, head for the drivers door. The problem is usually in one of those places.

If it were a w126 I'd point to a leaking vac system being plugged to make the transmission shift smooth, without that tell tale 'clunk,' and hard shift. If there a system to bleed the vac mounted on the valve cover?

I'm sure the one of the PO's had a specific reason to plug that line. Nevertheless, you're hedoing the correct procedure to find out why that plug is in the line.
