Yesterday I got a check engine light but still had decent power no limp. The code was unit 27/9 egr flap position malfunction. I was able to unplug the swirl flap motor from the top using plyers to grab it and a screw driver to press the release pin. Then by rerouting the connector to the side it was easy to insert a 4.7 k ohm resistor and after clearing the code it hasn't reappeared but only drove 10 km. The car is about to turn 300,000 km soon and after this mod The golden triangle come on lots more and I feel the power increase. I'll monitor milage and report back.
