Question W210 OM606TD swap from Sedan to Wagon

Trying to find some information on doing an OM606[turbo] complete engine swap from a 1999 w210 sedan (whole car available for sacrificing) into a nice rust free pre-facelift RWD s210 wagon. I'm coming up dry. (** No 4MATIC headaches **) Particular emphasis in regard to electronics integration, fuel tank, fuel lines, SLS, IP, drivetrain, etc, etc. Considering that this vehicle existed outside of the NA market, in my head it seems that it should be a fairly straight forward integration other than the fuel tank but perhaps not the case.

Any input or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

P.S. - sorry if there's countless threads on this, I just couldn't find them.

One thing you won't have between the sedan and wagon is a wagon Diesel fuel tank. I don't know how different a Diesel tank is from a gasoline tank. If you can use the gasoline tank, clean it thoroughly. Diesel will dissolve varnish in the gasoline tank.

Look into whether EIS and drive authorization in the wagon will work with the 606 ECU. It might get messy if you have to swap fobs, EIS, receivers, etc.

Look into whether the M112 PS+SLS pump will work with the 606.

IIRC 1999 E300s have ESP (vs ASR) so that should work.

It can't be a big issue getting a glow light in the wagon cluster. There's an empty socket in the lower right corner but I don't know whether the contacts will automatically go live and whether there's a translucent lens or blocking plate.

I figured the tank could be one of the more difficult tasks. Thanks for the insight! I will look into all of these things. Or just dive in head first!!

You shouldn't need to swap tanks.

Transmission is another difference. 99 has PRND4321 shifter while facelift has PRND+- shifter. Shifters and TCMs are not interchangeable but I'm not aware of differences in wiring harness or TCM connectors.

Final drive is different with E300 having shorter gears. You'll get better mpg with gasser gears!
