What are optional ways to add compressor oil after the system has charged?

Hello Good People,

I just replaced the AC compressor. This was a bear of a job doing this on my back, the compressor was plenty heavy with one had as the other had was trying to add a 19mm bolt to the rear. The oil I put into the compressor mostly dripped out onto my chest as I began cursing like I was working on a Porsche 944 years ago.

Got everything bolted on, ran a successful vacuum and the added a can of R134a. I picked up an oil injector but it is not putting oil into the system. When I twist the oil injector to advance the oil into the system I can only get 1 to 2 turns before I cannot turn it anymore. Do I have a faulty oil injector or am I doing something wrong. I quickly turned the system off cause I do not want to run the compressor with out the proper amount of oil.

I would appreciate anyone who can spare the time to take me to school on this matter.

T.I.A.
