I am about to shrug my shoulders on finding the correct part ....

Does anyone know the correct part # for the speedometer cable?

The end which goes into the transmission nylon gear needs to be a squared tipped end and NOT the spade end. Most hacks just jamb that spade end into the squared hole, where it breaks the plastic geared hole. It took me years, but I found a NOS NLA plastic speedo gear for the transmission which will accept this squared tip.

I am counting seven (7) odometer cables, and I think there are two lenghts. Looking I think for the longer one. The car is a 240D

AND -- are there variations in the end which goes into the speedometer ? That is, could it be a squared tip vs. spadded tip ?
