OM603 Replacing Oil Feed line with Hose

Hello,

My stock om603 turbo is leaking from the oil feed line where it meets the block. The flare is messed up, and sadly there is not enough material left to cut and reflare.

Getting a replacement steel line turns out to be not as easy. Most used ones are trashed or just too expensive.

I saw that -4 AN lines with adapters to block and turbo are readily available. I am favouring this approach, but I have a few concerns that I hope someone here can shed light on.

I am mostly concerned with oil flow. The original line is quite big in diameter, an -4 would lower that. Is there a restrictor in the line or in the oe t3 garret?
If so what size restrictor. If no restrictor is used, will a -4 line starve the turbo?

If someone has information on this or has done this I am grateful for any information.

Thank You

I am well aware on how to replace it. I have had it off the car before. The question is if someone has any information on the oil flow to the stock turbo with a -4 AN line. As this is cheaper and more readily available.

They sell hose kits for your specific engine. If you buy one for your specific engine the flow issue is solved. If you want to go on your own in a different direction there is not a lot of info on that.

I don't know if the superturbodiesel forum is still around or not, but they may know there.

I have gotten the line kit from BenzForce. It is for the om603. Just used for the usual aftermarket holset turbos. The original line is larger in diameter than the an -4. So the kit is intended for the om603 with aftermarket turbos. The central question is if the Garret/Air research oe turbo will be fine with a reduces Feed line diameter. Seems like most people just chuck the original turbo for a holset
