Jim Smith's Brake DIY post

Does anyone know the approximate date that jimsmith made his post regarding brake pad replacement? I will be doingpads and rotors on all four corners of my 83 300D, and are looking for any insight that I can get. I hear that is a pretty thurough post, including bleeding the brakes which Id liek to do.
Thanks

JMH

also

also, I read the DIY rear brake replacement page from the FAQ, and it has a listing of tools, etc that are required. Being that the page was for rear brakes, and I want to do fronts as well, Id liek to know how different of a job it is to replace the front pads/rotors as compared to the rear, and also what other tools (if any) are needed. Thanks very much,

JMH

TxBill, that's the one I am sure

I used Jim's instructions a couple of weeks ago.

I changed the fronts on my 1977 300D a week ago. Opening the bleeder valves to enable you to push back the pad/piston when removing the old pads is the hot set-up and makes the job a breeze.

I can't add a lot to Jim's post, other than, as usual, his directions are accurate and complete.

TXBill,

Thanks very much for finding the post. I was searching through 10-12 pages each time, trying things like 'brake pad replacement' or 'jimsmith' with no luck. I appreciate your help.
Now when I get the rotors and pads for my birthday on the 30th... Oh what fun it will be
Thanks again,

JMH
