Help Need Trans!

Well 4th gear has just about given up the ghost on my 83 300SD (280K miles). 1st, 2nd and 3rd all work great. 4th gear on the other hand slips under any kind of real load. If the road is flat it's possible to hold it at at given speed, but you have to be real light on the throttle or it will just rev.

The devil being in the details, here is the catch. I am a laid off WCOM employee, 40 days after being given the ax I have yet to get my severance check, AND because WCOM insists they will pay it I can't get umemployment either!!

So funds are very tight at the moment. Anyone have a decent used trans they'd be willing to sell?

Thanks!

Sorry to hear of your job situation. I lost my rollover IRA which was 100% WCOM at the time.

I think the best deal in transmissions is GermanTransmission:

maybe untill funds loosen up you could just milk it. You can always put the selector into third and you still will have a speed up to around 70 or so. 4th is useless around town anyways if you actually want to move. just a thought
