Parting Out my '84 190D 2.2 - new eng/clutch

Sorry I haven't been on for awhile, but computer crashed.

I settled the accident and had to get other car. I am selling/parting out the salvage on my wrecked 190D, 1984, 5-spd. Has new rebuilt compressor (A/C), engine rebuild 1,200 miles ago, new clutch and good tranny. I will also part out the interior parts, if needed. Since I haven't revived the files on my desktop, I unfortunately do not have access to saved mail from you kind folks who inquired in the past. Please recontact me for the parts you're interested in.

Thanks,
Vicki

Question

Will the tranny work with a 617? I'd love to have a gearbox in my 300D, although I'd prefer a 5sp to a 4sp...without the OD gear, I don't think the swap would be worth it...

I have a cluster bearing going out in my 5-speed. What do you want for it.

If you remember, I am interested in the air vents and housings. Mostly needing the center housing and at least 2 vents. One of mine won't let me adjust side to side anymore as the little knob thingy has broken off. I think 2 of them (if not all) have cracked where they attatch to the housing and will point downward on their own.

I don't remember what your interior and exterior colors are. My front doors have rust (I am thinking of eventually just getting new doors and getting them painted to match the car).

If I remember correctly your passenger side headlight housing is still good? I need a new one.

Let me know what I'll owe you for this stuff. Thanks again!

And still sorry for your loss!

Parting out the 190D

Yes I do remember the vents, I'll need the directions again how to remove them, and send me another email, as I lost all my saved email on the crashed hard drive.

It's a 5-spd. Are you referring to the ring gear on the flywheel that the starter mounts to, etc.? I don't know how compatable my tranny is with the 300 engine, but I'm sure you can easily find out from a parts person or a MB mechanic for adaptability. I would not want to remove the ring gear (which is not that expensive to replace, my is new, as they replaced it during the rebuild). I do know that there is a slave and master system for the hydraulic clutch assembly, which is tied into the brake master cylinder. So, would you want everything from the brake master, on down?

The headlight assembly that is still good (usable) is the passenger front side.

All four doors survived, miraculously and are in excellent shape, however, the tops of the interior door panels were sunburned in the front, but my mechanic used spray dye to liven them up a couple years ago and it worked pretty well!!! My cousin has dibs on the drivers' door, but no plans for the other three, so far. They are in excellent shape, good paint, no rust, with working mortors. What are you offering?

The color is white, with palamino interior. Seats are in good condition, with minor tear starting on drivers side, but can be easily patched. It's only beginning and the cloth backing is still intact, so its the MB Tex that's starting to spread, about an inch long. I had both seats restuffed when I first bought the car in '97. The mechanical mechanisms also work fine. Armrest in middle is in good shape and works also.

Anyone need any more interior parts, as I may as well disassemble the entire dash for the instrument cluster, and center console. I also had a working climate control unit. I even has a box with replacement vacuum hose, which I got in the mail the day before the accident. I think I want about $100 for the climate control unit and the vacuum cluster behind it. Make an offer. Also have new heater valve still in box. $15.

Make offers on any parts you want, but other than pass. front fender and doors, all other fenders are somehow tweaked, but I can always look and I'm open to suggestions. I hope you all have accts with UPS for shipping, or have your mechanic use his and receive it for installation.

Carpets are original German, as the car was originally purchased in germany and brought here. I even still have the original crappy Becker Radio in storage somewhere too. (I guess in 1984 the electronics was quite the rage, but by 1997 I could only pick up about 3 stations (out of 30) in the LA area!!!). I since switched to a Blauplunct tape deck, which I have other plans for.

The switch cluster near the shifter is relatively new (all the switches that is!), as I needed to replace two of them at the same time, so we bought the whole thing at once, but since then, the mirror adjustment knob broke (maybe some superglue??).

Parting out my 190D

Oh, I forgot to answer some other questions.

I think I'd prefer to sell the engine with the clutch on it. Ideally, someone will make an offer for the entire drivetrain, even if it means they get an extra tranny in storage, or extra something besides. I can get an estimate of cost to remove and crate the drivetrain (probably in two boxes) for overland shipping.

I also have 4 good Michelin MXV4s on the rims that I can let out also. Four good calipers and relatively new disks. Only changed pads once since I replaced all four. Can take off the whole assembly and send them out. Would probably ask about $50 for each wheel assembly.

parting out 190D

Compressor - about $200, it's rebuilt by Mercedes, and has R134 in it. Want any other parts for A/C?

Also, radiotor still good.

Both windshields still intact, and front one is new. I guess, with care, they can also be shipped.

Gas tank anyone?

I do want to see what is offered for my engine, and the buyer may want the compressor on it, but make an offer.
