I just checked and it is a 5 hr drive from houson, so I dont know if I will be able to make it for just 1 day, that would be 10 hrs on the road in one day
So dont count me for sure but I will still try to make it.

5 Hours?!?!

Oh Contrar Mon Frere...
I could probably make it from the shores of Galveston to Downtown Dallas. If you factor in a situation that includes a night marish traffic incident, then you might take 5 hours, otherwise 3.5 hours is normal(without a radar detector I might add)....4 hours if you drink a LOT of water on the way Sunday AM traffic 9with no rain) should be a breeze
Subman...come on Down!

Cool Poker Run

Has anyone ever thought about doing a Poker Run ?
Might be fun, and give us some driving to do.
Just throwing it out there...

Here's a short description. 1.) You meet at the starting location (This would be Cedar Hill SP), pay a small fee for "a hand"( We don’t need to do this). 2.) Drive to at least five other locations (For a tour of the area, this could be someplace scenic or HIstorical). 3.) At each stop you draw one card. When you get to the end you have a poker hand. 5.) At the last stop turn in your hand, whoever has the best wins a prize. There's usually a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place plus door prizes.
My parents are in the Lone Star Vintage Chevy Association, and they do this and other “car games” when they meet.

Hi all - I've been on vacation for about 10 days, letting the stress drain out of my system. Glad to see the GTG coming together. Count me in - Cedar Hill is only about ~40 minutes drive down from my place in Plano. Which diesel should I bring - the '87 wagon or the '98 sedan?

Whoops. Afraid you need to take me off the list. I just learned last evening I'm going to be attending a baptism that morning. Can't really skip it; I already agreed to be a godparent. Well, I'll be there in spirit...

Come on over. We had a bimmer at the last shindig as well.

I too may end up benzless for this one. I'm having to overhaul the engine on the 190D. Finding parts has been an effort to say the least, and I'm trying to make sure that I at least have orderable part #'s before I pull the engine.

Yeah, that was my son's 1980 528 I showed up in last year. Is leathermang going to cook again? Are ya'll going to assign stuff to bring or should we just kick in some money?

Cooking arrangements have not yet been finalized. I will be bringing Brats and buns, as well as both charcoal and mesquite for the grill. I like how it worked out last spring as everybody seemed to like pitching in in some fashion or another. We're definitely getting closer, so we should definitely get that list in order.

Getting into the park is going to be 5 bux a head. The pavillion is reserved. It was cheap enough that I'm not too worried about recouping that cost. If people want to donate a few bux towards that on the day of the shindig, that will be strictly up to them.

At this point, we should make up a list of who will be bringing what. We should have a volunteer for cooking. That is not my specialty at all.
