300D Turbo Valve Adj

83 300D.
Gonna tackle the valve adjustment this weekend. If the temp is very low, say 30F or so must one make any kind of adjustment for that? I'm planning on working on the car from an overnight off state since the book says set cold. I don't want to make them too tight. Do tight valves burn on a diesel like they would on a gasser?

Thanks All.

Other than the fact you'll freeze your hands setting the valves at 30degrees it shouldn't be a problem. Diesel combustion temps are generally lower than gasoline so the valves don't burn as easily. If you are worried try to set them at the wide end of the range but I don't think you have anything to worry about.
