Hi all! I have a 1987 300D Torbo. The blower motor started sounding like an airplane and then stopped working. I have tried to access it from under the dash but have had no luck. How do I get to it? Are they easy to replace? Are there any written instructions? Please help it is getting to be cold outside and I need some heat!!!
Thanks, Joe. ![]()

You access it from outside the car (seriously). You need to pry up the trim at the bottom of the windshield, then remove all the plastic rain gutters, and the top/rear firewall partition. Then you remove the wiper (comes out easy) and the blower is underneath. It takes about an hour or two. The factory service manual helps. I'd recommend either installing a new one (~$200) or rebuilding your old one with new bearings and brushes.
Good luck,
