How do both license plate bulbs burn out at the same time?
Tonight I got pulled over because both of my license plate bulbs burned out, I don't see how both of them could have burned out at the same time unless I have a short. I know that they were working last week, but they were not tonight.

123c,
How do you know they burned out at the same time? One may have been out and you didn't notice it. I have heard of people that said both their headlights burned out at the same when one was out and they didn't notice until the other one went out. It could also be that the bulbs are not burned out and there is another problem like bad connections. BTW, a short will not burn out a bulb, only a fuse. One exception could be a short in the voltage regulator which might increase the alternator voltage that could burn out many bulbs and maybe other stuff. P E H |

I pulled the bulbs out, and they didn't look to good. I am sure that they both didn't go out at the same moment but probally within a few days of each other. I will put some new bulbs in today and take it from there.
