Need Help. Mystery squeal??

My semester break is coming up and I intend to fix a long time (3 mos.) "squealing sound" which seems to be coming from the passenger side. The kicker is that this sound only comes on as I let off on the gas pedal at about 60-50 mph range. As I step on the pedal to speed up the sound disappears. Go figure.Care to take any shots at this mysterious problem . PLEASE HELP...BEEN BUGGING ME...Hey can A torn ball joint boot cause this sound? My lower ball joint needs to be changed ....Thanks and happy GOBBLE-GOBBLE....TO EVERYONE....

Just Guessing

Greetings,

Just guessing at your problem but is quite likely that you either have a worn or loose drive belt, probably the alternator. Other probable cause could be a fan clutch trying to engage. Does the sound happen on start-up as well, or at idle?

Well thanks for the shot at the problem. The sound does not happen during star-ups only at the 60-50 mph when I'm leeting off on the gas pedal. Very strange.
