Feeler post - Trying to gauge interest 81 300sd

Greetings,

After getting my latest insurance bill, I think its time to get rid of some of the toys (this was my dads car).

Anyway here's the lowdown

81 300SD

Grey / Palomino

No rust

266k miles.... Runs and drives decently. Interior 9/10 - No tears in the leather, no cracks in the dash etc..... The car would make a wonderful daily driver, or the ULTIMATE w126 parts car.

All sheet metal is straight, tires are decent.

I'd be looking at getting around 2500 for her.

Car is in NJ and has current NJ inspection till 5/2004. (Just passed in may).

I just cant justify the 1100 per year extra on the insurance bill anymore, I dont drive her that much, and shes not old enough for historic plates (which would give me $85/yr insurance)

What do you guys think - anyone interested? Is the price reasonable?

Thanks in advance,

George - New e-mail george@parts4sale.com

The price sounds reasonable.

I knew your insurance bills were high up there in NJ but I had no idea HOW high!

If you are in southern NJ I might be personally interested. However, in my opinion your best best is to throw it up on EBay with a few pictures, good description, and a No Reserve auction starting at $2500. You should get your minimum bid, and you might get more.

Emphasize the "no rust" part and how that came to happen (as in "garage kept" or something). Normally you're not going to see a 1981 MB in NJ with no rust.

Good Luck,

Ken300D
