My rear window on my '85 300D exploded last night driving back to college. I go to school in northern NY so needless to say the rear defroster is always on. Any suggestions on trying to find a used one compared to brand new? Is this common for the glass to fail on the older models?
Thanks! Brian |

Make some calls to your local recycler. Used is the way to go. The rear window doesn't suffer all the scratches and nicks like on the windshield so get a used one.

How bezzar
I have heard allot of differant ways to loose glass but thats a new one on me. Most commen way around here is deer or flying rocks in winter, you must have incountered a rock with your name on it. billrok is right, a used one is the way to go. I called a yard in Seattle a couple of weeks ago to inquire about one for a 123 , it was $100.00 which is high i think. They couldn't ship it tho

I lost a rear window same way in an 84 300D. I put the defroster on and the rear glass exploded like it was shot. Cold wet day in the fall.

You are lucky that you don't have a coupe, the glass for those is about $1,000.
