What are these misc. things in the trunk? ..and.. some sunroof motor Q?s

Here's what I just did...

I went to look at the sunroof motor assembly in the trunk.

What are these things for?

Is this some sort of plug for the antenna? I don't see where it could possibly be connected to....

What is this golden colored clip for? For the cables maybe?

================================================

Sunroof

1.) How do you secure the triangular-looking bracket onto the sunroof motor? Is there some kind of special washer or rubber grommet or something? The screw are 6mm I guess. The holes in the bracket are a lot bigger though...

2.) How is the bracket aligned to the mountings on the chassis? I'm guessing I to A and II to B, correct?
Also how do you mount it as the holes in the chassis are bigger than 6mm. Are there again washers of some sort that I'm missing?

Now...

the sunroof cable.
Is it really hard to R&R the sunroof cable? I mean I am really not mechanically inclined...

A mechanic told me that replacing the cable is easy but adjusting the sunroof so that it closes properly is the hard bit. Is this true?

BTW, I can't open the sunroof at all. Can I pull on the cable to open it or something?

Thanks

Merry Christmas everyone!

That first coax connector sure looks like a vintage car phone connector. The old car phones had giant boxes mounted in the trunk. I had one in my car when I got it and tore it all out.

Removing the SR cable isn't hard -- I've done it a time or two to grease the cable. I have a set of MB shop manuals that explains how to do it. They're pretty pricey books, but I'd recommend getting them if you plan to wrench much on your car. I don't have them here with me, or I'd tell you what they say about the sunroof cable.

Thanks flash!

I'll see if I can find some shop manuals.

Anyway,
I have figured out how to mount the bracket+motor to the chassis but still don't see how they are bolted together....

The golden clip is for the sunroof motor connectors..

The co-ax connector.. I don't know what it's for...probably some old car phone. I feel like cutting it but it seemed like a factory install.

anyway,
for now are these the steps to R&R the cable?
Sunroof cable replacement? (W123)

Any help on those grommets/washers/ or whatever?

Holson,
Here is an auction for a sunroof cable maint. kit that includes the expensive lube that is recomended for the sunroof. I am getting this kit as a preventative, and to help a slow-moving roof.
