Problem during my trip.

heres what happened to me on my trip. i was hoping to get some answers.

i was driving about 100 miles away from home. i noticed some weird smells. increase is temperature, and lost of oil pressure. so i pulled over to check it out. it looked like the dip stick popped out and oil gushed all over the engine. i checked the dip stick and i had no oil left (or not enough that i could have checked). so i added 1 quart of oil and drove (slowly) 3 miles to the next exit. where i filled her up with some rotella T. until it was full. i noticed a slight sound when i step on the gas. but so continue driving. after a while the sound became louder and louder. untili decided to stop and leave the car there. the car sounds semi-okay when idling, but as soon as i give it gas. it has a clunking noise to it. now that u have heard my problem. i need some help with the following:

a) what could possibly have been damaged?
b)approximately how much would it cost to get it fixed?
c)is it safe to drive it the 100 miles back home?

this is a big lost to me. and even though i will continue to use diesel mercedes. non could replace this car .
