240D injection pump replaced - external setups?
I recently replaced my injection pump with a alleged good used one. (I was working on a rough idle problem that I couldn't get rid of, even with the help of all the good people and their suggestions on this forum so I went for the last suggestion of differnent pump.) The car does idle much better now but I have a stalling problem some of the time when putting it into gear and lousy acceleration from a stop (worse than normal) all the time. It also has some varying of the engine speed when fisrt started for about a minute. It does have clean air and fuel filters, flushed fuel system and pump, fresh diesel, good injectors. I just put the pump in and set the timing but did nothing else with the linkages or anything else external other than idle adjustment at the air intake butterfly valve. Can anyone describe what should be done as far as linkage checks or setup?

Sounds like you either didn't set your timing correctly, OR, your timing chain is stretched.
