Unhappy 240D shakes wicked on cold starts! Normal?

Hi,

Whenever I start the 80 240D up on cold mornings it shakes like none other...scary style...is this normal?

Thanks,

I've posted about the EXACT SAME THING...!

Above reply does seem to be what's needed.

My parking place at work is inside. One rainy day I realized that there were water stains about the size of a quarter covering a three foot radius around the car. Finally figured out that in the few seconds between pulling my wet diesel into the space and shutting the engine off, the car had "shaken itself dry" like a wet setter!

It might also be the glow-plugs,one or more not working anymore. It's easy to check with a DMM.
