I don't know. Maybe someone who knows will post a reply.

The theory behind a acumulator is a devise that holds a certain amount of fluid with a diaphram in the unit that alows the absorbtion of fluid shock. !/2 half of the accumulator has fluid then a diaphram then air or some kind of mass. As your hydraulic cylinders, the shocks produce force on the fluid. The acumulator is a go between that allows the hydraulic shocl to act as a shock absorber. The control valve that is connected to the rear sway bar theid lever tells the control unit how much pressure and fluid to apply to the unit.

There must be a way of testing the unit. Either take it our and see how much hydraulic fluid it holds. It should fill at a particular amount of fluid, ie so many oz. If it takes more then the diaphram has ruptured. Or apply a pressure actuator and pump up the unit. at a certain point the unit would no longer take any fluid and the pressure reading would go straight up instead af gradually going up.
These numbers or proceedures I do not know. Sorry.

Dave

Dave Morrison:

Thanks for all the info - I am about to go outside and start taking out the lines- Finally nice weather

Any chance I could get a larger copy of that Vacumm Diagram you attached. I printed this but is way small and when I enlarge I cant read a thing.

Having trouble finding a 22 mm bolt head or nut so I may have to get the 22 mm allen- where can I get one . checked Harbour Freight - nada
I suppose I am going to have to pay a fortune unless the sun smiles on me and I luck out with a 22 mm bolt head

Thanks for the diagram and I ll keep you posted on the progress

Peace:

nib

How did the rear suspension rebuild go

Dave Morrison:

how did the rear rebuild go? I was just under the car about to drop it and I thought I would ask your wisdom first.

Any suggestions where to start first. I have the muffler and pipe down and about to drop the drive shaft

Fuel tank is drained - do I release brake lines?

Anyone with words of wisdom feel free to lend a suggestion

Independent rear suspensions are not my forte. I know live axle much better

Looks like I am going to have to open up the differential. I am seeing oil on the housing and I take that as leaking seals

but Like I said I - I R S I have little experience with

Please and thanks in advance

Peace:

Nib
