troubleshooting coupe window actuator...
Over the weekend the function of the driver's side FRONT window on my '83 300CD coupe ceased to work.
Using the palms of both hands, the glass can be "lifted" into the closed position, and there is a normal "motor sound" when the rocker switch is worked...but the window no longer goes up and down as God intended it to. The car doors WERE taken apart a while ago so tint could be installed, so I'm hoping that whatever connects the glass to the actuator has "jumped the track" or some other simple fix can be invoked. Any ideas out there? Thanks! |

Probably that $4 slider broke
See my web site - Cars - Technical - Chassis and look for Window Regulator.
Front doors (on a W126 at least) need a little more effort when you take the panel off - but it's much the same. |
