Broken door ?

The right rear door has been giving me fits lately when trying to open it more than 1/4 of the way. Also, it sometimes doesn't want to close once it IS opened.

The other day, I couldn't get it to close and basically had to force it. When doing this, it felt as if I were bending something. Now, when I open the door, it doesn't have that hinged position that keeps the door from closing. It's like the door just swings open and closed and won't hold itself open any longer.

I'm just curious....what exactly did I break?

You need to replace the door check strap. Expect to spend about $13 and you will need to remove the door panel to replace.

Good luck,

Excellent. Cheap and easy; the way I like my repairs.

Gracias Larry!
