Glow Plug Light was talking to me
I just love that glow plug light! Two days ago it was flashing after I started the car. Today, I checked the voltage on all of the glow plugs and all were getting 11 volts delivered while glowing. I checked the resistance on the coupler plug going to the glow plugs, and when I checked number 3 glow plug (actually the number 3 jack of the coupler), I had no reaction on the ohmeter. I pulled the glow plug, checked the resistance from the tip to the screw thread and still nothing. I replaced it, the light no longer flashed and the car once again started smoothly. It had been starting really rough after the light started to flash.
I love that light. |

Yes PEH and isn't it grand!
I thought others might benefit from hearing about my story. Obviously I know that is what the light is there for. Why else would I have performed a diagnosis on the system this afternoon? |

Patsy, are you and I the only ones without a Y chromosome on this board?

Well Natalie, there seem to be hundreds of X chromosome people on this board, but perhaps we are the only ones who are not pictured!
I must confess that I only read this forum when I have a problem with the cars, and I rarely do anymore. I used to post a lot when I first got my Ivory 300SD. I used to post as "Patsy" but had to change my name because of some glitch. I've been around since 2000, and have always LOVED this forum. I'm glad to know there are at least two of us, but it has never really mattered to me. I've always been treated just like everybody else. When am I going to get my TD? I'm jealous!!! |

Just thought I'd make sure that no one was thinking there was a second GP light... Isn't it cool that the car tells you when there's a bad glowplug? I wish my diesel Ford did that... |
