The exhaust gas is sampled and monitored, and the facilities are located away from population centers. 4- The used oil WILL contain micron and sub-micron size particles which may combine in an engine with unburned hydrocarbons to produce heavy metal pollutants that cause disease in people and animals. Even the best filter cannot cannot remove sub-micron particles!

Why not have them save all of the used oil from the generators for you, and sell it to an oil recycler (currently paying $1.00+ per gallon). They can filter and re-distill the oil to make other products, and you will have enough money to fill your tank with #2 diesel at least twice. Everybody will be happy.
Exhaust fumes from burning ANY kind of fuel are harmful....I don't think anyone plans on taking a drag off their tailpipe!!

I once had a Woman from the SF Bay Area tell me I shouldn't burn almond wood from orchards because it was laced with chemicals that were sprayed on by the farmers. It was bad to breath it and she did not want her child to be exposed to it(the chemicals).

I have burned 4, yes 4, 55 gallon barrels of used oil through my 240. At $4 a gallon for diesel fuel you can figure out just how much money I have saved. I mix it at 3 gallons per tank. Since I have a long commute I have to save on fuel where I can. Not a single problem to date. I just filter it through old t-shirts with powerful magnets sitting in them. Another benefit to saving money is screwing the government out of some She smokes a little more but I actually get better fuel mileage.

Next time you filter some, can you take a pic of the sludge that is collected on the magnets.
Thanks

I have to try it... And since I have an extra IP now, I figured it will be a good experiment. I keep looking at the now 500 gallons of used trans and oil sitting in barrels for free... It worth it to buy one of the 1500 http://www.simplecentrifuge.com/ machines. Heck thats 2k in fuel sitting there so the machine pays for itself from the first haul. plus I have access to another 1-2 hundred gallons a month..

OR by some simple math

Centrifuge = 1500
500g Oil/trans fluid free = -2000

I just made 500 bucks. Then profit 400 to 800 a month from the new free oil trans fluid. Within 4 months I've actually made more than the cost of any car I have to pour it in...

attached are some photographs of how i handle my motion lotion blend[50gals wmo, 50gals atf, 20gals junkyard diesel,and 20gals junkyard gas]. the trailered tank is used for mixing and transporting. i pump the mix from it through 2 paralleled 20 micron filters into a 300 gal holding drum that feeds the centrifuge after passing through another 20 and a 5micron filter. i am in the process of installing a sump pump from the centrifuge to feed a 300 gal holding tank. the vehicles will be gravity feed from this tank. i included a picture of the sludge that i usually get after running a 100 gals. this tells me you should use a centrifuge if you are gonna do this. all this stuff including the centrifuge was made from scrounged materials. the centrifuge spins @5400 rpm and generates 3200 g's

thanks, hunt
