remote sump
I dont know of this can be done but it would certainly solve the sump issues.
My thoughts are.. Remove the oil pump pick up tube and the mechanical oil pump. make a very small sump pan which is plumbed to a remotely mounted main sump. May need a small electric pump to pull oil out of this little sump. Use an electric oil pump to push oil from the remote main sump, thru a filter and into the 5cy. 617 MB engine's stock oil cooler. Keep the oil comming out of the cooler flowing into its original point on the engine. Where the oil use to go out of the engine to the cooler... plumb this to the remote sump too. This carries the main bulk of oil to the remote sump.
