603.961 - help identifying temp sensors
There are a lot of temp sensors on this engine. I'll bet someone knows what all of them are or can help piece it together.
The temp sensors I'm aware of are: - one post by the thermostat - one post by the upper radiator hose - two post by the upper radiator hose (105/115?) - big one post on the head near the glow plugs (temp gauge) - small one post on the head near the glow plugs Thanks, Sixto 95 S420 91 300SE 87 300SDL 83 300SD |

Good question, I noticed this myself.

The one by the t-stat is the 50C temp sender for the trans. It connects to the switchover valve near the blue flying saucer on the fender.
I only recall one near the glow plugs - for the temp guage. The lead for this sensor goes in the glow plug harness and connects up near the glow plug relay. The 105/115C is used for cycling the A/C at 105C and cutting it off entirely at 115C.
