Rusting Floor panels on my wife's 300D

Hi, I have a major problem with my wife's 84 300D. The rear floor panel behind the driver's seat apparently had water leaking into it several years ago (before she knew me) and though dry now has caused the floor panel to rust out to such an extent that when I was probing with my hands to determine the extent of the rust, my hand went right through it. My wife has owned the car for many years and refuses to part with it and is blaming me for putting my hands through her car. We have three diesels in the family each with minor rust around the rear wheel well but this is the first time that I have discovered something major. With 280K on the car, I am ready to part with the car but my wife says she would rather part with me than lose her "Blue Beauty" My question to the group is where can I go to get the floor pans replaced. I am willing to spend some money to do it but am wondering what the best way to proceed is and where do I go to. A local body shop said they didn't want to bother with it. Does anyone know of a shop within 100 miles of Richmond, VA that could get the love of my wife's life (I don't mean me) back in shape?
