Expert Advice and Chart, a challange
This is just a thought from a a junior member.
If the experts in this forum could come up with a chart that listed body styles, years, engines that told potential buyers what to look out for in used diesels it just may cover many of the questions that come up over and over again. Any reader could then do a search on a particular item of concerns and look at all the posts under that subject. A good example is the 1995 E300D I own with the famous 2-3 flare. Had I known about that issue, and this forum I would have kept a close eye on it while the car was under Starmark. It seems some SDL's bend rods, some don't, some cars eat turbos, some don't, the list goes on. Discussion please!

This document already exists and is EXCELLENT. It is a book entitled: Mercedes Benz Buyers Guide. This is a must have for someone contemplating the purchase of a used MB.
Good luck, |

Mercedes-Benz USA also gives away a laminated card with all the current body styles and engine designation codes. While not totally inclusive of everything, its free. Ask for it when you call 1-800-for Mercedes.
