Floormats for a 300SD-Can't find any good ones!
I've got an 83 300SD, but I can't find any Cocoa Brown floormats!! I've tried all the places out here in the People's Republic of California, including Pep Boys, Kragen, and so forth.
Anyone have any on-line sites? 83 300 SD 174K |

If you like Cocoa Mats, *I think* Griots may have them. Otherwise, I would try Cannon rubber mats, they're great!

Try www.************************. $100-120 for a set of 4 fitted mats.

Try the dealer!
I found it hard to write that, but my first set for the 300SD lasted 10 years and 140k+ miles - the heel pad got rather worn. Paid some $99 for 4 in 1987 at W I Simonson in Santa Monica.
Got the second set from Escondido Motors in Escondido, CA also for $99, complete with the heel pad, the words 'Mercedes-Benz' on the pad and a nice star logo on the fronts. That was in 1998, and they now have 15k on them and are like new. There's a presumption here that you vacuum them regularly to minimze the abrasive effects of grit and shampoo them now and then. I have found that the MB dealer sold mats are competitively priced (the first and last time you will hear that from me) and very hard wearing, assuming you are OK with wool or nylon or whatever it is. Color selection is very wide - you s/b able to get cocoa. |

This may sound like heresy, but I run the mats in my E300 through the washing machine. I remember the floor mats were criticized by the press in the late 90's because MB changed the design and they're not as heavy as they used to be.
But I'm perfectly happy with that. The lighter weight allows me to machine wash them and they come out looking like new. The ones in my 1999 E300 have probably been done every 6 months, for a total of 8 times so far. Still going strong. So I vote for the dealer mat.
