Suction Side Filter?

leathermang, LarryBible, or anyone else:

What are the different types of suction side filters for the A/C? I found a company online who sells a sort of thimble-shaped screen that is simply inserted into the suction side of the hose manifold. Is this what you guys have in mind when you mention this filter? I think there are also the types that are much larger and are installed inline on the suction side hose. It sounds like this type would be much more difficult to install.

When I last flushed my system, I made the fatal error of overlooking the condensor (yikes!). This is most likely why I'm returning the new compressor and getting another one on warranty. After doing some research, I have come to realize that the condensor is CRITICAL when doing a system flush. In fact, it is often just replaced.
