I did not read the enitre post here, but you may want to check the glow plugs. Check for resistence, not amperage draw. You can check them right at the harness.

car at Dealer
well the car is at cherry hill mercedes right now...
they cleared all of the codes out of the computer... now they want to check the injection pump timing and the camshaft timing.. dealer sez if they are all ok then my pump injection pump is bad... anyone have any idea what a rebuilt pump or having my pump rebuilt would cost me?/ should i pull my pants down now??

Easy to spend $750-$1000 on rebuilding an injection pump and that is with you taking it off and having a Bosch shop do it. It may just need calibrating which, it is my understanding, runs around $250. I know some people that have a rough idle when cold and have just learned to live with it.

update Timing Chain..
Heard from dealer today.. timing chain is strectched and car is off timing by about 6 degrees..
dealer is going to repalce chain and time engine and ignition pump.. hopefully this will solve the problem,, any ideas appreciated

McDiesel,
Has anyone checked the compression? If its low on 1 or 2 cylinders, it might miss fire on some cylinders when cold. That would explain unburned fuel in exhaust. P E H |
