Question Power steering pump leak on 83 300D

My pump is leaking from the rear. Has anyone used the steering pump repair kit available from internet parts stores? It's just a few o-rings and an aluminum seal ring. How bad was it to do the repair? Did it work?

Ya ...my pump was making noise and I am ashamed to admit that after I rebuilt it, it didn,t work AT ALL I took it apart and put it back togather several times. I plan to get another at the
u pick and try again. I am looking forward to see what other folks have to say, didn,t seem like that big a deal but it whooped me. (for the time being)

leak from the rear would just be the rear seal and it's held in place by a spring clip. Very easy pump to take apart and put back together. You may as well replace all the seals while you have it off the car. No special tools are needed and you will rest knowing that it should last another 20 years.
