Anti-freeze
Does an old (1984) diesel use normal, green anti-freeze? I heard that old diesel cars require special anti-freeze?

I am not sure for the older ones, but I know that many highly recommend using the MB anti-freeze on the 124 chasis - '86 or newer.

Jacob,
Older all iron engines and copper radiator MB can use almost any antifreeze. Its the newer wonder engines with aluminum heads and/or blocks and aluminun radiators that require special antifreeze. P E H |

Ask for Orange stuff.... not the Green - its got something to do with acid/alkaline ballance effecting the plastic radiator, makin it brittle and cracking.
