There are 2 techniques described. I found it easier to push the the shaft out with the shaft for the trip mileage.

RepairFlix.com also have a good video you can get that shows some techniques that I found helpful. If you need someone to talk you through the procedure I'd be happy to do it by phone with you some evening. You've done the hard part by removing the cluster.
