Hi,

I live in Canada and was thinking of installing a remote car starter on my '95 E300 Diesel. On my previous Diesel, an '83 300 SD I was told that this was not possible. In fact a garage worked for 4Hrs installing one, got the car started remotley but then could not shut-it-off remotley, so he gave up and removed it.

Does anyonone know if it is possible to install one on the '95 E300 Diesel? Does anyone actually have one? Can you share your experience?

I have seen several Diesel Ford and Chevy trucks with remote start systems that incorperate a time delay to allow the glow system to operate. I would call some shops that specialize in trucks and truck performance. Maybe even some RV shops or
Tow truck / equipment outfitters.

I think that what makes it hard to install on a Mercedes is the vacuum system. The tricky part is to get the engine to shut-off once started by remnote. No one seems to know how to do that without physically turning off the ignition key
