I know the guage works correctly as when I keep the car in 4th gear on the highway, the guage reads 90c. Before the day I took the car to work and had the second bout of heating problems, the car would run at 85c on this guage pack. This was with a new radiator, and running the car in 5th on the highway. The current thermostat does keep the car a tick warmer than the one it replaced. This much I am fully aware of, and don't have a problem with. The other guage pack, the temp guage did not chatter over 105, but the rheostat for the dash lights went bad. Unfortunately, I haven't had the time to see how to get the rheostat off of the other guage pack without breaking something, as it appears to have been riveted to the PC board. I will be replacing the current guage pack with a new one, after the more serious problems are corrected.
