Angry Broken timing chain

The timing chain broke on my 1982 300 SD as I was cruising along around 65 MPH. When I took the valve cover off, I discovered that the cam shaft was broken also.

I am going to replace the timing chain. I am pretty handy but I have never replaced a chain before.

I removed the head, the front oil pan, and the oil pump. I don't know if there are any secrets to threading the chain through or if there are any special tools I need.

Does anyone have any advice for me on replacing the timing chain. I will appreciate your help.

Richard
