Hey Everyone,

I just purchased a 1992 300D 2.5 and the cruise control doesn't work. It appears there is some sort of linkage that is missing on the top of the engine. It appears to be metal and goes from a small unit above the IP over to the accelerator linkage. Does this "unit" have anything to do with the cruise control? If not, what is it for?

seems like there is a connector arm missing that goes over the
pins that they snap on to... dealer could look it up i think or try fastlane..

it is sort of an adjustable rod that goes from the vdo drive on your throttle linkage.. as they age the can fall off too try dropping the acces pan under car and see if it is possibly laying there.. they catch everything!

i have replaced both of mine they sort of fit on snap on bearings and were cheap like 25 BUX a few years back the plastic dries and when you engage the cruise control it throws the armes off and eventually they pop off... as mine did.. thought i needed a new amplifier and it was the cheapest fix.. took the one off my 92 to my 90 and whal-lahh cruise worked..

do you know who prev owned car or was it a dealer purchase..
