Harmonic balancer

In my 300D turbo,1984 a vibration has started. It begins at 2500 rpm and get worse to 3000 rpm where the vibration all of a sudden leaves and I have smooth running again. Whene slowing down the reverse happens. Smooth below 2500 rpm.
Could this be the start of the balance wheel breaking down.

Have the drive line flex discs checked.
If they break then you can do alot of damage.

Also have the wheels checked, they might be
out of balance.
Loose or broken steering and suspension parts
can give you vibration too.

Broken rear wheel bearings might be bad.

I doubt if it were the harmonic balancer. They mainly dampen the "little" vibrations that would vibrate the bolts out of everything. If it was bad it would rattle your teeth out and wear down your crank bearings in short order.
