Diesel Compression Tester FYI
Ok,
After reading and reading on here about diesel compression testers -- I thought I'd give you some info I found that helped me make my choice. Tool Aid seems to have the best reputation for standing behind there stuff. Plus they are right here in NJ. Some part numbers you're going to need. First the adapters. Part number 34740 that one is 24mm and is for the fuel injector. Part number 34780 that one is 12mm AND 18MM which is for the glow plugs. 12mm is for model 300 and 300 turbo from 1978 and the 250 and 350 turbo models. 18mm is for all regular engines and model 300 PRIOR to 1978. The part number for the tester ALONE is 34700 -- that comes with NO adapters. OR, if you like to have a "set" in your box (which is what I did) get model number 34900 -- that comes with a bunch of adapters (including the two model numbers above (3 adapters) plus others... (post if you need to know which ones) Ways to get the best prices. Use google.com and do a search for things like Tool Aid 34900 (etc.) and also make use of Froogle.com (awesome site, part of google.) Ok, well, I hope that helps. GD |

I got mine from Auto Test Systems for $108. It would not seal from the adaptor to the tester after the third cylinder.
