That looks like something that would be fun to take apart...
I will bet that a good old fashioned 'electrical experimenter ' could match it up with generic parts for $15... and a little soldering...

I know nothing about The 1993 190E 2.6 ,BUT...Both Fastlane and ********
show the OVP relay with Two 10 Amp fuses (AND more importantly 9 pins
instead of 7 pins) Part #201 540 3745

Part # 201 540 3845 (with 7 pins) and one fuse is what you show us is in the
car.

I thought it was suppose to look like this with 2 fuses instead of one, this is why I am asking.

Thank you.
There where issues with this relay on the 1993 190e 2.6

The correct original OVP was MB# 2015403245
superseded by MB# 2015403045
superseded by MB# 2015403845
superseded to the current part MB# 2015403745

Have a great day.

OVP relay arrived today, installed it, tried to start the car, Yippy started right up. Also noticed that the last time the Battery was replaced, the battery was set on the accessory wire coming from the + battery terminal.
It had worn through the insulation but I do not think it had shorted out or there should of been some serious arcing/fire, there was no fuse between the worn insulation and Battery.

Thank you so much for all your help.

Still curious, does anyone know a way to test it? I found my fuse blown, replaced the fuse but now I'm wondering if it even works since my tach still doesn't. I unplugged it with the engine running, reinstalled the fuse and plugged it back in. The engine idle surged up then back down. I have a 1987 300d w124
Thanks

I have replaced the OVP in four of my cars in the past two years.

If it isn't bad, it will be some day, buy a new one.

Forgive my ignorance but what is the MB club card? Do you mean the MB USA membership card?

Based on many responses, I believe it's in my best interest to replace so I went ahead and bought a new one. My concern now is plugging the new one in just to blow it again because I didn't find the original fault however, I'm hoping that the fuse will do it's job. Still waiting for it to be shipped here so I got some time.
If anyone's ever had problems with the OVP blowing time and time again please let the brotherhood here know! This forum has yet to let me down.. Kudos to everyone and thanks for the replies. I'll add a coment as soon as I either fix or destroy my current issues.

I replaced the one in our 300E shortly after we got it, the old one was the original and had a hotwired fuse! It was the single fuse style, the new one has two fuses and works great. I figured in my "throwing parts at the car" rampage I might as well do the OVP.
