Off-road EGR

So I've been tinkering with Moby of late, and took the advice of many to fabricate a little plate to ensure the egr is blocked off. Upon attempting the installation, I discovered that Moby had already performed this service by completely clogging the hole in question with years and years of egr gunk. How thoughtful!

Self-modifying for performance enhancement, sensitivity to road conditions, memory of where I like to sit... this car is as smart as some people!

My question is this:
I've followed the gunk trail and cleaned it out as much as I could reach with various tools. Is there a solvent that will clear it out of the crossover pipe? That thing was a MESS! Can I soak it in something? What's the pleasure of the EGR off-roaders?
