Best upgrade; Big or small block, fuel injected, Chevy V8 engine, With G.M, T-56, Six speed standard, and possi rear end. Fits in just about any, and all make, and model vehicle. Very quick, very easy conversion, with reliable, powerful, and promising results every time. What can I say? I suppose I'm a bit of a traditionalist ... ![]() This will also solve all of your future Mercedes problems from both a budget, and a mechanical aspect. Chevy's are dirt cheap, easy to work on, and get parts for, and atleast as reliable as any Benz. Pair that up, with the superiority of Mercedes engineering in the suspension, looks, and braking departments, and general overall better quality built cars, and you have a great car. Best of both worlds... Nick

That's a good way to make your car have zero value. There that has been for sale on craigslist here for months, and the guy can't seem to give it away.

Thanks omegabenz! My upper oil cooler line is 'weeping' like CRAZY!!!! To the point that the oil cooler bottom 'mount' is 'wet', and leaves a few drops of oil on the concrete when I park it warm... I'm hoping to be able to get enough money to install some lines like those, but I might just have to get a set from the junk yard or some such...

I really want to do it now, but simply can't afford to! My plans are to put the metal lines on there like omegabenz... The problem is I'm already at my credit limit with mom, so it'll have to wait till I get a job and get myself stabilized... I need new tires and several other things also, but can't afford them...

At this stage in your life it would be probably cheaper to replace with original until you get your feet under you financially. you have to keep the bank happy (MOM) for now.
![]() When I redid my hoses similar to OMEGABENZ picture, I was installing a Amsoil full flow/bypass filter system. I mounted it behind the L/F headlight. so then I had to run two additional lines. I used a dremmel with a cutoff wheel and sliced through the metal crimps. removed the hoses, and there are the barbs the old hoses crimp onto. Took them to our local hydraulic hose shop (The Hose Shop) and had new hoses made. cut off the barbs and welded on threaded fittings on all 4 metal pipes. the hose is a push lock type so no clamps are needed, but I installed some for a piece of mind ![]() so now the oil flows from the oil filter housing to the Amsoil filter setup, then to the oil cooler and then back to the original filter. The bypass holds 1 1/2 qts and the full low hold 1 qt or so additional oil. Have no idea what this cost ![]() ![]() ![]() Just upgrading to the hoses and having the ends welded on would probably cost more that stock hoses. Since I figgured my bubble gum welding wouldn`t hold and or look good, then I paid to have it done. Charlie
