Finally got my 300SDL
Today I purchased my 300SDL. It is an -86 with only 148K and one owner. The car is in mint condition both mechanically and interiorly and has been religiously maintained.
I am a happy camper... This car has some power. Makes me wonder how the turbo performs on my 300SD. The difference is enormus, can one more cylinder make such a difference? Thanks for the info I got, from people on this forum, leading up to this purchase. Sincerely Anders

Congratulations on the car purchase!
Have you shown it to Enrique? I have discussed Mercedes diesels with Enrique before, and he is 100% convinced that the 86-87 300SDL is the best Mercedes built ever. Even with the aluminum head, he prefers it to the 81-85 300SD.

Thanks Suginami,
I went by his shop today at 5.30 pm, but he was closed. I will try tomorrow again. I want him to go through the car completely. I had the car checked out by an other mechanic locally where I bought the car. I must say now owning both an -85 300SD and an -86 300SDL, that both are great cars but the SDL is in a class by itself. Thanks again by the way for your recommendation of Enrique. My cars are in good hands now... Sincerely Anders
